Written by Ali Sedighi, MBALast updated:

Coquitlam.Management is a fractional management service for owner-led businesses in Coquitlam. We help owners take operations, people, systems and their own calendar off a single pair of shoulders, so the business can run on routines rather than on the owner's memory. It's a small, senior practice, and the person you speak with first is the person who leads the work.

We belong to the Sedighi.ca and SAZ.ca group of companies, a Canadian consulting group with its headquarters in Vancouver, British Columbia and clients in every part of the country. Coquitlam.Management is the group's management practice for this one city.

The group behind the site

The practice draws on two consulting firms with one founder. Sedighi.ca is Ali's own consulting company for growth, marketing and technology, and it sits behind brands such as HVAC.Agency, HVAC.Digital, Trades.Agency, BusinessConsulting.ca and Conv.ca. SAZ.ca (the name stands for Strategy & Acceleration Zone) is the Canadian firm he founded for strategy, AI and revenue acceleration work, where he is Founder & Managing Partner.

Our consulting prices follow the published ranges on BusinessConsulting.ca, and our own pricing page sets them out for Coquitlam owners.

Ali Sedighi, MBA

Ali Sedighi leads the work. He holds an MBA in Technology Management and has 17+ years of experience, beginning in 2007, when he founded ONE.ir, a full-service digital marketing agency.

He went on to found MyAutomation.ca and Conv.ca, the second of them a conversion-rate optimisation agency. He has worked with clients in Canada, the USA and Dubai, and has built 150+ live HVAC websites, including CombiBoiler.ca, GasBoilers.ca, Roma Heating & Cooling and HeatLand. He lives and works in Vancouver.

The management side of that history matters more here than the websites. Running a portfolio of live client sites, divisions and campaigns means running weekly routines, written procedures and scorecards across many teams at once. That's the toolkit this service brings to a Coquitlam clinic, crew or shop.

How we work

We work in a way that suits busy owners: short meetings, written outputs, and a clear end point.

  • Your choice of format. In person or by video call, plus phone, text, email, shared documents and your existing software.
  • One problem at a time. We agree the first problem to solve, solve it and only then suggest the next.
  • Written scope and price. Hourly, project or retainer, agreed in writing before work starts.
  • Your documents. Scorecards, procedures and role descriptions live in your systems and belong to you.
  • Planned exit. Fractional roles are designed to hand over to someone inside your business.
  • No lock-in. Specific notice terms are confirmed in writing in your proposal.

What we believe about small-business management

A few beliefs shape every engagement. They're worth stating so you can decide whether we suit you.

  1. Most people problems are role problems. Unclear jobs make good people look bad. See roles and hiring.
  2. Procedures beat reminders. If you have to remind someone, the step isn't written down yet.
  3. Leading numbers beat lagging ones. Next week's bookings tell you more than last month's revenue.
  4. Owner hours are a cost. If you don't count them, you can't reduce them. Our owner time work starts there.
  5. Management help should end. A good fractional manager makes themselves unnecessary.

Who tends to suit us

We suit owners who are willing to be measured and to let someone else run a meeting. We're a weaker fit for owners who want a report to file away, or who need someone physically on site every day. If you're unsure which group you're in, our two-week owner time audit guide is a low-cost way to find out before you call.

Limits we keep

We are business and management consultants. We don't give legal, employment-law, payroll, accounting, tax or workplace-safety advice, and we don't certify, inspect or sign off on anything. When a question belongs with the BC Employment Standards Branch, WorkSafeBC, a lawyer or an accountant, we say so and suggest what to ask them.

We also don't publish client quotes or ratings. Our results page shows named results from our HVAC work, clearly labelled, and explains what they do and don't tell a non-HVAC owner. If you have a question we haven't answered here, the FAQ covers the common ones, or call, text or email.

Frequently asked questions

Who will I actually work with?

The work is led by Ali Sedighi, MBA. You speak with him in the first conversation, and the person responsible for your engagement is named in your written proposal.

Is Coquitlam.Management a separate company?

It's a service brand within the Sedighi.ca and SAZ.ca group of companies. Contracts and invoices are issued through the group, as set out in your proposal.

What don't you do?

We don't provide legal, payroll, accounting, tax, HR-compliance or workplace-safety advice, and we don't do any trade, clinical or hands-on work in your business. We help you manage it.

Why does a management service mention so many HVAC websites?

Because that's where the group's track record is published. Building and running 150+ HVAC websites and several business divisions taught us the routines we now bring to other sectors.
